Lux walked in gracefully and took a seat near the middle. She wasn't too eager, but she also wanted to pay attention, so the middle was perfect. She sat down and took out her textbook. After she set up her desk, she looked around the room at all the different faces and sighed.

Sarah walked into the Green house and sat next to her cousin Kayalynn. "Hey cuz, Eric? You're dating my cousin?" she asked surprised.

"Nothing much, we're doing Mandrakes? Interesting." She smiled and looked around at the ear muffs and gloves.

Kaya grew frustrated. "Okay, how does everyone know we are doing mandrakes and I don't?!" she asked her group of friends with a pout.

Marley figured no more students would come so she decided to start the class. "Alright everyone, who can tell me anything about mandrakes?" She asked the class smiling.

Leighanna raised her hand in the air. She knew alot about Mandrakes for she read all about them in the library one day when she was bored.

Leighanna nodded. "Mandrake or Mandragora root is a powerful restorative. It forms an essential part of most antidotes, including one for petrification. The Mandrake Restorative Draught returns people who have been Transfigured or cursed to their original state. The cry of the Mandrake is fatal to humans, so special care must be taken when growing them. Even as a baby, the Mandrake's howls can knock
a person out for a couple of hours."said Leighanna calmly.

Marley smiled. "Correct, 10 points for Gryffindor." She said and clapped. "Alright can anyone else tell me something about Mandrakes?"

Catalina almost puked at the sound of the Gryffindor's voice. She made a grotesque face and then turned back to her parchment, looking down at what she had written on Mandrakes. She had already said that.

Rolling her eyes, she glared at the Gryffindor's head and then looked at the Professor, eager to kill the damned piggish blonde. Anger rippled through her again and she closed her eyes, willing herself to calm down.

"No? Alright well, mandrakes also have a face, their roots even stand as legs and arms so be careful, they will bite you if you are not careful. We are going to re-pot these mandrakes so everyone put on your earmuffs, make sure they are tight so their cries won't affect you, and put on your gloves unless you want a missing finger." Marley said and put her own earmuffs and gloves on.

Catalina obediently did what Professor Devere told them to do, pulling on her gloves and then snapping on her earmuffs and making sure they were on securely so she wouldn't be knocked out or killed by the babies' screams. She looked back at Professor Devere, waiting for further instruction.
