Lily smiled and laughed. "Um, it's freezing out here so I guess it's the first one."

Severus grinned before he idly looked down at his watch. Silently cursing, he regretted standing up. Taking her hand in his own, he said, "May I escort you back up to the castle, or would you rather sit out her alone?"

Lily looked around not liking the idea of being in the forest alone. "I'll go back with you." She said and got up. "You mind if I wear this until we get to the school?" She asked meaning the cloak he gave her to wear.

Severus smiled and then extended his arm so that she could put hers through it. With another chuckle he said, "No, I want it back now, Lils." He grinned. "Of course you can keep it on until we're inside. I don't want you to catch a chill."

Lily smiled at him and took his arm. "Why thank you Severus, you're such a gentleman." She said and pecked his cheek in a sisterly way.

Severus blushed deeply at her compliment and felt his heart beat quicken when her lips made contact with his cheek, even if it was only for a fraction of a second. Stifling a sigh of pleasure, he chuckled and led her up to the castle before saying, "Have you seen Potter around lately? I'm beginning to think he left the school for good. But, maybe he's just sick." Either way, Severus would like it.

Lily could see Severus blush and smiled. "No, I haven't... though I don't really care." She said and sighed. "Well, yes I would care if he's sick, I'd feel bad if he was and I laughed at him or something."

Severus beamed at her, thankful that she was showing no signs of liking him. Then, his lips twitched at the corner. "Don't feel bad, Lils. He deserves you making fun of him. He's such a conceited bully." He glared at the castle ahead of him as if all of his ridicule had started with the castle.

Lily nodded. "Yes, but still. I can't see myself laughing at someone, anyone getting hurt...." she said quietly and looked at the castle. Lily always stuck up for anyone and everyone who she saw was getting bullied it was natural instinct for her.
