Catalina added the correct ingredients to her potion, before stirring it a couple of times clockwise. Then, she looked around, wondering if anyone else was using rat spleen. There was a smudge in her book, and she couldn't quite tell what it said. Then, with a smirk, she saw Leighanna glaring at her. Smiling back darkly, she gave the Gryffindor a mocking wave before her heart swelled with pride at the look on Krista's face.

Good, she was winning Remus over. Finally. Now that idiotic Hufflepuff would know what it was like to be truly heartbroken.

Severus noticed Catalina glancing around so he looked over at her, catching a gaze at her tattered book. With a smile, he said, "Hey, that does say rat spleen, if you were wondering." He gazed at her warmly, his black eyes following hers. He looked at Leighanna and then blushed violently when his gaze fell upon Lily.

Feeling his heart start to pump madly, he turned back around.

Catalina gazed at Severus thankfully, her sapphire eyes smiling along with her lips. Without replying, she got up to find some rat spleen in the cabinet before returning to her seat and beginning to cut it.

OOC: I totally made that up, by the way. I can't find the ingredients for this potion anywhere. It's only mentioned in the first book, but it doesn't say how to concoct it. It's so frustrating! haha. But, I'll get over it.

Leighanna rolled her eyes at Catalina waving at her. As she noticed her smiling as she saw Krista face she felt going up there and punching Catalina right in the face but she held herself back for the stake of not losing points her and Lily worked so hard for. "Why does she have to ruin everoyne lifes especially mine and Krista's?"Leighanna asked angrily as she stirred her potion up as it was glowing the color it was suppose to be in the book.

Severus, having had a shortcut for this particular potion, finished it in record time, beaming at his accomplishment. Smiling to himself, he stood, poured a small amount of his concoction into a vial and then walked it up to the Professor. After placing it atop his desk, he hurried over and then cleaned his cauldron before putting back all of his unused ingredients.

Xavier looked at the vial Severus had just handed him. "Nicely done Snape. Seems potions is your thing. What shortcut did you use? I believe you've outsmarted the book, it says the potion should be finished in thirty minutes. You did yours in about....ten."

Severus looked up at Professor Ashcroft, wary of his question. He didn't want to reveal his book, so he merely said, "I just changed a few of the ingredients. And, sometimes, when you stir the opposite way a couple of times, it makes the color change more quickly." He shrugged, trying to veil his pride.

Narcissa had her book open to page 23 and had been working diligently on her potion. She had added the ingredients and stirred it the right way, but it did not look exactly like Severus's. It was the right colour, just a bit more dull. Narcissa flipped the page of her crisp, new Potions textbook to see if she had forgotten a step. Seeing that it did not continue on the following page, Narcissa frowned. Perhaps it needs a little bit more stirring.

A little bit of jealousy rose in her as she listened to the professor praise Severus. With a heavy sigh, Narcissa looked down at her concoction. Potions was not her forte.
